mutual and the academy awards

It wouldn't be an arnold family blog post without food of some sort on it so here it is:

Matt asked a girl to a dance and helped make her a cake.  

Anywho...

last night we had a really fun mutual at church.  

ACADEMY AWARDS NIGHT!

Over the last few weeks, the kids emailed their favorite youtube clips, movie clips, commercials and home vids to a computer savvy young woman in our ward.  She compiled the submissions onto a disc and organized them into categories for awards at the end of the night.  

There was even a red carpet:

The beginning clip from "Up" won for most romantic.

After each category was shown, the kids all voted for their favorite.

It was so fun!  I was the popcorn lady so in between clips I ran and made more.  Gotta love microwaves!  I made air popped and on-the-stove-popcorn for an hour before the activity and made an equal amount of the stuff in 10 minutes using the microwave.  

oh well. 

 Alex and Matt both brought friends.  So fun!
